NASA's Artemis II mission is set to take four astronauts on a record-breaking spaceflight around the moon, bringing humans farther into space than ever before.

Astronauts heading to the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years are currently more than 100,000 miles (160,930 kilometres) from Earth and in "good spirits", according to Nasa officials.

Their roughly six-hour lunar flyby promises views of the moon’s far side that were too dark or too difficult to see by the 24 Apollo astronauts who preceded them.
